You may fault me for this, but I’m going to resist the urge to have a “Best of 2011″ top 10 list, and I swear it has nothing to do with laziness. Rather than rehashing the past (I mean, c’mon, haven’t you been paying attention?), why not look ahead and focus on things to inspire you in the new year?
There are three things I want to bring to light that you should look out for in 2012. First up, jewelry by A is for Arsenic.
I’ve mentioned this brand a few times before, previously focusing on their apparel, but after seeing their recent foray into jewelry creation with this statement-making (no doubt uncomfortable/slightly impractical, but who cares) Knuckle Duster set, I can not wait to see what they come up with next.
I’m a huge makeup enthusiast, but until recently all of my interest was in eyeshadow. I’ve since begun to put more emphasis on lipsticks and lipstains, and I’ll be looking out for innovative lip colors/coloring techniques in 2012. The Dec/Jan issue of Nylon mag (worth picking up) has a how-to feature on the ombre lip–which I think I’ll be trying my hand at this New Years Eve–and I’m hoping this is just the beginning of a bold year for lipcolor.
Lastly, 2011 was the year I discovered designer, Ying Edge—I raved about the blue leopard dresses–and soon he’ll be launching an online store (!!). Get psyched and get your purses ready.
