This past weekend I made a trip into NYC to check out the Gaga Holiday Workshop at Barneys. I’m by no means her biggest fan, but an entire department store floor featuring Gaga statues and nothing but Gaga-related merchandise (meat dress shaped cookies, anyone?)–of course I had to scope it out.
Before you even enter, you can see that Gaga has taken over the building. For example, this very hair-y window display…
Everything was loud and over-the-top, which of course was entirely fitting. It was full of plush “little monsters,” bejeweled chocolate skulls, and christmas stockings modeled after Gaga’s notable footwear.
There was also a bit of clothing here and there. I’m always a sucker for biker jackets…
Unfortunately, I didn’t actually buy anything. I came close to buying a candy ring featuring 3 inch spikes made of sugar, but that was about it. Most of the items ranged from $50-400, which I felt was just a bit much…
So unless you are or know of a die-hard Gaga fan, the purchases aren’t really worth the big bucks. But if you find yourself in NY while this is still going on, it’s certainly a sight worth checking out. Find out all the details, here.
