Has anyone ever read the manga or seen the anime, Paradise Kiss? It’s by Ai Yazawa, the same woman behind Nana. It’s like part soap opera, part fashion porn. It centers around a group of pastel-hair-colored indie fashion designers who introduce a conservative female student to the world of alternative fashion. The designers turn the girl’s life around, all sorts of romantic drama ensues, and the characters do all of this while decked out in petticoats, fedoras, corsets, and face chains.
Anyhow, long story short, this is one series that’s worth cosplaying. Today I came across the first image, which features Alodia Gosiengfiao as the pink-haired, Miwako. I figured I’d highlight some of the other great cosplayers out there, paying homage to this simultaneously fashionable and compelling series.
