This is not a post about ironic Christmas sweaters–no one needs another post about that. If I was going to talk about sweaters, the only one worth mentioning is this He-Man and Shera one from 80s Tees, but I’m not, so who cares. What this post is about, is how to look super festive, but without losing your edge.
Black Milk Clothing usually comes out with themed pieces around most holidays, but I didn’t necessarily expect them to cover Christmas–I couldn’t visualize how they could make Santa Claus and candy canes fit into their badass image. But always full of surprises, they came up with this “Zombie Rudolph Photo Bombing Your Christmas Tree” Swimsuit (whaaaaat?) and a slew of obnoxiously festive leggings.
I realize not every holiday party is the kind where you can just roll up wearing a nonsensical nylon bodysuit, so rocking one holiday themed color throughout should still do the trick, while also allowing you to maintain a touch of class. My favorite fancy little holiday number? This Ashley Green Swing Dress by Hell Bunny.
If you wanna go full-on Christmas, don’t overlook the small details. I SUCK at nail art, and have the shortest, most unworkable nails at that, so thank goodness for the endless amount of pre-decorated fake nails you can find on Etsy. These “Mommy Kissed the Fat Man” nails by Kandy Klaws are oddly named, but awesome.
Seasonal/holiday hair dyeing is not for the faint of heart, but personally I think it’s one of the most wonderfully tacky things a person can do (being sincere, I love it). Through the years I’ve dyed my hair basically every color under the rainbow, and Raw Demi-Permanent haircolor comes with my highest recommendation.
My last pick may delve a little too deep into crazytown, but for any bold kawaii cosplay kids/sweet lolis out there, Cosmates has an extensive selection of cute and sexy Santa garb. Fuzzy Santa kitty maid minidress? The holidays can get pretty ridiculous already, so why not?
