This Saturday marked a new beginning for the blog–I completed the first shoot where I handled all styling, as well as photography. And as you can see, I also decided that it was finally time to get some guys to join the Fashion Vandals party.
For quite a while, I’ve wanted to start doing shoots where I took total control–sometimes when you want to take pics in a messy abandoned building, and you only have four hours of sunlight, and there’s rain in the forecast, it’s just easier to take care of things yourself… Plus, while I absolutely love the photographers I work with, it’s an interesting change/challenge to be involved in every step as you work to deliver your vision.
My model for the shoot, Dennis Condusta, is one half of the band, Astorian Stigmata–a band I think a bunch of you vandals and creepy kids might enjoy. The jumping off point for the shoot basically came from the fact that I decided I wanted him to have skeletons in his hair.
For the shoot I put together a claw-tipped jeweled spider connector ring and a skeleton accented chain belt (which sadly doesn’t really make an appearanceĀ in the pics). I used Halloween skeleton garland as hair accents, and featured my favorite “Yorick” necklace that I snagged from a goth vendor in Lancaster a few months back.
So what do you think about my first shoot? As much as I love stepping in front of the camera, I want to get a lot more fresh faces on the blog in the coming months, so I can keep building new aspects of my creepy fashion world acheter kamagra.
