Perhaps I’m just compensating for a lack of real tattoos, but I’ve been seeking out every single temporary tattoo cosmetic product on the market. For that reason, as soon as I found out these temporary lip tattoos from Violent Lips existed, I wasted no time trying them out.
So if you’re thinking to yourself, “Lip tattoos? Those sound sort of complicated…” then you’re partially correct. You can’t just slap em on, add a little water and call it a day. These take a bit of measuring and cutting, a whole lot of patience and practice, and a far steadier hand than I apparently have. If you want to know what I’m talking about, watch the tutorial here.
But all that said, they sure as hell delivered some dramatic results, which is exactly what I was seeking out.
The red and white polka dots were the first ones I tried out, and I apologize that there aren ‘t more photos to show them off. The first set was sort of a trial run for me, and they’re actually a little torn up in the corner. These were adorible, and I could see them looking awesome on some rockabilly chick.
But by Violent Lips package number two, I finally mastered the application with these zebra-print tattoos that were far more shocking than I could have anticipated (in my book, a good thing).
And while I didn’t make out with some dude to test out the true staying power of this product, I did sport them for a few hours around town and they stayed pretty firmly in place (I can’t say the same for the red pair, but that’s partially my own fault).
My final verdict on this product is that the visual results are epic, but the application process is undoubtedly a challenge (and might result in some wasted product). But if you can get past that initial hurdle, you’ll get yourself some perfectly contoured, incredibly bold and bright lipcolor. Just realize that the tattoo will be ENTIRELY true to color in terms of what you seem on the package. Because, my gosh, the look on peoples’ faces when I wore the zebra tattoos…

very dramatic-great for pictures
