<\/a>I showed up at the con as Morrigan\u00a0from Darkstalkers, just as I’d announced. Sadly, I don’t have any\u00a0good pics that show\u00a0the altered biker jacket I made with the back patch, which was the part that gave the outfit a street punk look, but you can expect an additional photo shoot in the near future. I made\u00a0the trip to\u00a0 the con with my friend, Donald, who miraculously assembled a spaceman suit in about two day’s time.<\/p>\nRegardless, the con was a good and slightly ridiculous\u00a0time. I’d say it’s an event\u00a0any nerd (comic, anime, sci-fi, though not really so much gaming)\u00a0should try and check out at least once. \u00a0And I hope\u00a0to\u00a0be able to make an appearance at one or two\u00a0more comic cons throughout the year, so I’ll keep you posted. Donald entered the cosplay\u00a0contest, I participated in sci-fi speed dating (awkward but not AS<\/em> awkward as you might assume), and we attended a “Ladies of Evil Dead” Q+A panel. We also gallivanting\u00a0from vendor to vendor, bought artwork, and snapped pics of all the creative costumes. I was relieved to see that everyone wasn’t dressed as an Avenger, and was surprised to come across a few characters I didn’t recognize. Although, instead of talking about the cosplay, why don’t I just show you:<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/a><\/a><\/a><\/a><\/a><\/a><\/a><\/a><\/a>There really were so many cosplayers\u00a0running around, it was impossible the take pictures of them all (I’m so bummed I never got to track down the female Skeletor), but I at least caught up with most of my favorites.<\/a>It’s worth mentioning that I was mistaken for Lady Gaga three times that day, which left me thoroughly confused. If someone knows of a time when Lady Gaga wore an outfit that involved bat ears coming out of her head, please let me know…<\/p>\n
