First off, I want to give you a heads up that you should expect a healthy dose of nerdiness in the coming weeks…<\/p>\n

The Wizard World comic con I’ll be attending in Philly\u00a0is just two months away, and after much deliberation, I’ve finally settled on my cosplay choice. My initial thoughts were Lynn Minmei <\/a>from Macross, Urd <\/a>from Ah My Goddess, or Lady<\/a>\u00a0from Devil May Cry, but I finally settled on Morrigan\u00a0from the Capcom\u00a0fighting game, Darkstalkers, but with a twist…<\/p>\n

When fellow blogger, DarlingStewie<\/a>,\u00a0told me that\u00a0she wanted to lolita-ify a character from one of her favorite sci-fi shows, Dr. Who, I thought that tweaking a classic character to suit\u00a0one’s own stylistic tastes was an awesome idea. I initally \u00a0toyed with the idea of doing the same–outfitting one of my favorite characters\u00a0in ruffles and a petticoat, until I realized that I wanted something that was a little more true to\u00a0me and my personal style.<\/p>\n

And so I’ve decided to dress as a horror punk version of Morrigan. It may not make the most sense right now,\u00a0but it eventually will (or at least I hope it will). I intend to chronicle the creation of my costume and I’ll admit now that\u00a0the road to completion may be a little rocky. I\u00a0have cosplayed\u00a0before, but the Darth Vader, Jean Grey, and\u00a0Mary Jane Watson costumes of my past consisted entirely of ready-made pieces, so this\u00a0project will be much more of a challenge.
