This is my favorite time of year for fashion–right when it’s chilly enough to rock a bunch of layers and look polished in decorative scarves and peacoats, but not so cold that we have to pull out all the hardcore winter wear and look like a bunch of awkward, bundled idiots (no one looks cool in a bubble coat…no one).

I rounded up a collection of sweaters and outerwear I’m currently lusting over, and looking back at my picks, I primarily favor one of two things–sophistication or some serious Muppet-ation.

I can’t say I’d actually wear this brown dip-dyed explosion of faux fur, but I’m pretty pumped that it exists, and that there’s at least one girl out there that’ll be bold enough to spend her winter as some sort of glam Chewbacca.

Topshop left me speechless with the huge-ass feather collar on this piece. This just might win the award for being the most intense winter coat I have ever seen.

In terms of sweaters and blazers, the two below stole my heart. I’m trying my best to not have every single post involve skeletons (really I am!), but really, how could I pass this up?

  1. The two coats you have marked as from GDR are actually from Red Queen’s Black Legion. http://www.rq-bl.com is the website. They recently moved (websites, not actual locations) and are still moving a lot of things into the online catalog. You can’t buy anything from them directly yet, but if you contact them, they’ll send you the name, number and address of one of their “carriers” (I’m not actually sure what they’re called, but they buy a bunch of their stuff at once and then re-sale it with permission. Most people on eBay don’t have permission, but it’s eBay so who’s really paying attention). Just thought you should know who the real designers are so you could give them proper credit. They’re a team of two people in China who are amazing, both in craftsmanship and their designs.

    1. Hope, thank you for the information! I had the impression that GDR was reselling but I couldn’t for the life of my track down the actual brand producing those pieces, so I’m glad to know the actual source and give credit where it’s due. And now that I take a look at the RQ-BL site, it seems like a lot of shops on eBay are selling their pieces without citing the brand…
